This is Saturday Mornings

Celebrating BBC Saturday Morning television since the launch of Multi-Coloured Swap Shop in October 1976.

The site was last updated on 21 February 2010.

The Programmes

Each of the following programmes has it's own dedicated section on Saturday Mornings.

Multi-Coloured Swap Shop
Saturday SuperStore
Going Live!
Live & Kicking
The Saturday Show
Dick and Dom in da Bungalow
TMi

Use the red menu line or just click on a show's logo shown on the left of each page.

There's also a section covering all of the Summer Replacement programmes.

New Site, New Focus

We've decided to introduce an all new version of Saturday Mornings later this year.

The new site will have a shifted focus and we'll only be covering the years 1976 to 2008 - that's from the start of Swap Shop to TMI Series 3.

This shift in focus will allow us to concentrate on improving our existing content rather than trying to keep totally up to date with what falls in the slot today - unfortunately we've not got the time at present to continuously update the site like we used to!

It Started With... Swap Shop was broadcast in December 2006 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of BBC Saturday Morning Television, and Saturday Mornings was very lucky to be asked to involved with the programme.

Visit the Saturday Mornings It Started With... sub-site which documents
this very special programme.

Latest Updates - 25 June 2009

Look! An Update!!!

Ok, only a small one but an update none the less. Sorry about the lack of site updates this year, but we've just had far too much going on away from the site to manage them.

Anyway, we've added 3 new Publicity Cards to the site. One is in the CBBC section featuring Liam Dolan, and more importantly we've got a pair of cards for the Summer section from The Saturday Picture Show featuring Mark Curry and Cheryl Baker.

More updates soon we hope...

Totally Addicted to BBC Saturday Morning Television

We're totally addicted to BBC Saturday Morning television, here's what you can find over and above our main content about the shows on this site.

The Features section allows us to cover some aspects in more depth, but also lets us stroll slightly away from the site's subject whilst keeping it in sight. We've covered Before the Swappie, Spin Off Shows and what happened when the then Prime Minister visited Saturday SuperStore. We also get to showcase our favourite videos in Swing Your Pants (Trev & Simon) and Nae Body Move (Harry Batt)., and take a nostalgic look at those favourite numbers that we used when prompted to Give Us a Call On...

The Archive displays items that have a connection with Saturday Mornings. We've got all sorts of stuff from mugs, pens, badges, book, t-shirts, sticker and records to more unique items like a Swap Shop Flag and the real Saturday SuperStore Clock

Publicity Cards - the signed pictures that the programmes send out. We've spent the last few years collecting as many as we can find from across the 30 years. From Swap Shop to TMi we've got (most of) them.
